Tabernacle

TabernaclColony at Tabernacle Newydd 28th March

Colony, Afan Institute of Arts and Ideas, Gwrando and Neath Port Talbot College Group

Artists showing include Lee Williams, Jacob Whittaker, Sara Moore, Lou Laurens, Kathryn Campbell-Dodd, and Sean Puleston.

There will also be contributions from Foundation Diploma students at Neath Port Talbot College Group- Naomi Hopkins, Thomas Carsley, Emma Jenkinson, Bianca Samuel, Paige Rosser, Tammy-Jo Daniel, Corey Thomas, Danielle O’Reilly.

Tabernacle Newydd was opened in 1909 as a Welsh speaking independent chapel, it was relocated to the Forge Road site as an earlier site was deemed not fit for purpose.

The event is open for two days, 28th March 4-8pm launch at 6pm and 29th March 1-4pm and consists of video, performance, projections, drawing, scupture, installation, photography, and orginal Tabrnacle Newydd archive material, courtesy of the Afan Institute for ideas. Tabernacle Newydd is a situated in Forge Road which is off the main High st.

Bydd prosiectau Wladfa cael eu cynrychioli gan Lee Williams, Jacob Whittaker, Sara Moore, Kathryn Campbell-Dodd, a Sean Puleston. Bydd hefyd gyfraniadau gan myfyrwyr o’r Diploma Sylfaen, Grŵp Castell-nedd Port Talbot – Naomi Hopkins, Thomas Carsley, Emma Jenkinson, Bianca Samuel, Paige Rosser, Tammy-Jo Daniel, Corey Thomas, Danielle O’Reilly.

Roedd Tabernacle Newydd agorwyd yn 1909 fel capel annibynnol sy’n siarad Cymraeg, yr oedd yn reloacated i safle Ffordd Forge fel y tybir yn safle yn gynharach nad oedd yn addas at y purpos.
